Tynagh Energy Limited built Galway's first power generating station. The Power Plant is a modern state of the art facility which uses the latest in advanced engineering technology. The Plant uses the cleanest available fuel, natural gas, which significantly reduces emissions of carbon dioxide. For the first time, Galway city and region has a reliable and efficient source of power which supplies more than 120,000 homes nationwide.
 
This website provides information about the Company, their participation in the All Island Single Electricity Market which was implemented across the entire island of Ireland along with conveying how the Power Plant changed the economic face of Galway and the western seaboard.
